Measurements are estimates
Sofaplot helps you judge whether furniture will fit before you buy it. It is a planning aid, not a guarantee. Always measure.
What fit checks are based on
- The size of each piece. Sample pieces in Sofaplot's catalog have typical sizes for their kind. A piece you add has the size you typed, or the size read from a photo or store listing you added. Listings can be rounded, out of date or wrong, and the same model can vary between production runs.
- The room you entered. Walls, doors, windows and built-ins are only as accurate as the measurements you gave. Real rooms are rarely perfectly square, and baseboards, trim, radiators, outlets and uneven floors all take up space Sofaplot may not know about.
- Simple shapes. Each piece is modeled as a simplified block built to its overall width, depth and height. Arms, cushions, legs, recliner mechanisms and doors that open can need more room than the block shows.
AI tools can be wrong
Sofaplot's AI tools read sizes from photos, listings and floor plans, work out a room's size from a photo, find the pieces in a set, make 3D models and make pictures of your room. AI can make mistakes: it can misread a number, mistake one piece for another, guess a size that's off, or draw details that differ from the real product. Sofaplot always shows you what the AI found so you can check it before anything changes. Check every size against the store's listing and a tape measure before you rely on it, and treat AI pictures and 3D models as ideas, not exact copies of real products.
Delivery checks
The doorway check compares a piece's smaller dimensions with the narrowest opening you entered. Getting furniture into a room also depends on hallway turns, stair width and headroom, railings, door hardware and whether legs or backs come off, none of which Sofaplot can measure. "Tilt through" means it might fit when tipped on end; it does not mean it will.
Prices
Sofaplot doesn't collect, track or compare prices from stores. The pieces in Sofaplot's catalog are samples, not real products, with typical prices to help you plan a budget. A piece you add yourself has the price you typed, or one read from a store listing you added. Totals and budgets use these and don't include delivery, assembly or tax. Always check the real price with the store before you buy.
Before you buy
- Measure the space where the piece will go, including clearance to walk around it and to open doors and drawers.
- Measure every doorway, hallway, stairway and turn on the way in, and compare them with the piece's height, depth and diagonal depth.
- Check the store's listed dimensions and delivery and return policies.
No guarantee
Sofaplot does not guarantee that any item will fit in your room or can be delivered, and is not responsible for purchases, returns, delivery fees or damage based on its results. Sofaplot doesn't sell furniture or track stores' prices or stock; check product details, prices and availability with the store before you buy. Pieces in Sofaplot's own catalog are samples, not real products.
